Please join us for special celebrations this month, starting with Palm Sunday on Sunday, April 5th at 10:45 am. Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 11th at 11am, and our Easter Brunch will be Sunday, April 12th, at 9am. Bring a dish to share and bring flowers to place in the cross for the service. Celebrate the joy of Easter on April 12th! On Sunday, April 19th we will have special music and participation from our children, so that will also be a special celebration. Easter blessings!
Emma Margaret Rogers, widow of Lee E. Thompson and Floyd Miltonrogers, died Monday, March 23, 2009.
Born September 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charlie “C. C.” and Mary Catherine Brammel Gill. Survivors include: one brother, Jo (Nell) Gill; a niece, Jennifer (Phillip) Dobbs; and a great nephew, Justin Dobbs.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25th from 5 – 8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 26th at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at louisvile Memorial Gardens.
Martha “Marti” Kelly Christian Will, resident of Harrodsburg and Danville, died Thursday, March 19 at the age of 92.
Born May 21, 1916, she was the daughter of Curtis A. Christian and Beatrice Kelly. She is survived by her daughters Jenna (Lee) Wild of Salvisa and Alise Will of Lexington, formerly of Harrodsburg.
Her family requests memorials be sent in her name to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504.
Clyde Q. Little, age 85, Harrodsburg, husband of Belle Burke Little, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY.
Born April 21, 1923 in Pikeville,KY, he was the son of the late Varn and Mae (Anderson) Little. He was a retired maintenance foreman and member of the 25 year club for Inland Steele Company and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18 from 5 – 8 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am, Thursday, March 19 at United Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Main Street, Harrodsburg by Rev. Andy Wing. Burial will be in the Johnson Memorial Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
Looking ahead to Holy Week – The Mercer Co. Ministerial Association will be sponsoring services Monday, April 6th through Friday, April 10th at 12 noon at Harrodsburg Baptist Church with rotating preachers and worship leadership. Stephanie will be preaching at the Wednesday, April 8th service. We will also join Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, both at 6:30pm at that church. Note this change from previous announcements. These should all be wonderful and meaningful services, and we hope you can attend!
Judith Lay, 66, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 9, 1942 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” W. Finnell, Sr. and Mossie White Finnell. She was a former food service worker at Beaumont Inn and Shakertown and a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10 from 5 – 8 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapell, Harrodsburg.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday, March 11, at Spring Hill Cemetery by Revs. Andy and Stephanie Wing and Gary Story.
Crystal Nichols will be making her directoral debut at the West T. Hill Community Theater in Danville later this month. The play, First Baptist of Ivy Gap, runs March 19th through 22nd. We will organize a group from the church to go on opening night, Thursday, March 19th. We will meet here at 7:15 and go over together. If we have 10 people signed up who are willing to pay in advance, we can get a special group rate of $8 per ticket. Otherwise tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or through the box office. There will be a sign up sheet outside of the church office, or you can call us to sign up.

Betty “Boo” Coleman Cole of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, February 26, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at United Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Main Street, Harrodsburg, on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1 pm.
